2 Days in Paris (dir. Julie Delpy)

Independent turkey of the year. One film that actually succeeded in making me angry. True it had it's funny moments, but even Hollywood chick-flick blockbusters have their moments, they are just not worth talking about. Nor would this be if it wasn't for Julie Delpy, from whom I honestly expected much more. A good dialogue for a starter, better cinematography and much better set design. This movie left me with a throbbing headache. I wished she shut up 15min into the film, 30min into the film I still hoped it would turn on it's head and surprise me, an hour into the film my ass started to hurt from sitting, I was exhausted from watching and really wished I'd rather have gone to see a therapist. It's a self centered, feel-sorry-for-me-I'm-french-and-people-have-preconceptions-about-me bullocks. It tries way too hard, the criticism is poor and the cop-outs are way too obvious. I didn't want to write anything about it, when I saw it, it would've sounded much worse and I still don't want this blog to become an angry rant. But it's Christmas and something has to be said.

Terrible. Absolutely terrible. Could not agree more.
Pretentious. Stupid. Clichéesque - even when trying to break the cliché. Really badly acted -characters are cartoons, and bad ones.

Her point is stupid - yes Paris is not that romantic - and she demonstates it very badly.
And, no, New Yorker jews have nothing in common with Parisians Bobos.
This is exactly the worst of both world.
Not funny and egotisitc.

Really sorry to have been a collateral victim of this.
